Course Overview

The Protocol, Etiquette & Official Visits Management Training Course equips protocol officers, executive office and VIP management staff, event and government relations professionals, and administrative and communication staff with the knowledge and practical skills needed to manage protocol, apply correct etiquette, and organize official visits and events to the highest professional standard. Protocol and etiquette govern how dignitaries, officials, and guests are received, ranked, seated, and honored, and how organizations present themselves on formal occasions. In ministries, government entities, public authorities, diplomatic settings, large corporations, and institutions hosting dignitaries, flawless protocol and etiquette protect reputation, show respect, and avoid embarrassment, while errors in precedence, seating, titles, or hospitality can cause offense and damage relationships. Well-managed official visits and events reflect the professionalism and standing of the host organization. The course covers protocol, etiquette, and official visits comprehensively and practically, with sensitivity to local, regional, and international customs. Participants learn the role and principles of protocol, the protocol officer's role, and the foundations of official etiquette and professional conduct. The program then addresses rules of precedence and order of ranking, forms of address, titles, and honors, flag etiquette and display, and seating arrangements for meetings, meals, and events. Participants cover business and social etiquette, including meeting, greeting, and introductions, dress codes, dining and hospitality etiquette, gift protocol, and cross-cultural and international etiquette. Participants also examine planning and managing official visits end to end, including program design, arrival and departure, reception and welcoming, motorcades and movement, accommodation and hospitality, and coordination with security, media, and stakeholders, as well as organizing official events and ceremonies, VIP management, handling sensitive situations and contingencies, and professional communication and correspondence in protocol, with practice throughout. The course is delivered through practical exercises, seating and precedence planning, official visit program development, and scenario practice. Participants leave with a protocol and precedence guide, an official visit planning and program template, a seating and event setup toolkit, an etiquette and forms-of-address reference, and an official visit and event checklist.
