The Mining Operations Management Training Course equips mine managers, operations superintendents, and the leaders who oversee them with an integrated way to run a mining site, treating production, cost, people, and contractors as one management system rather than as separate departments. Mining operations across the Gulf and Africa are often remote, capital-heavy, and dependent on long supply lines, shared infrastructure, and mixed workforces, so a decision taken in one part of the site quickly affects output, unit cost, and safety in another. The course focuses on the whole-of-site view that single-discipline technical programs do not provide. Participants follow the mining value chain from ore body to saleable product, read the key performance measures of a site, including tonnes moved, grade delivered, equipment availability and utilization, and cost per tonne, and learn how shift reporting, short-interval control, and monthly reviews turn those measures into action. The program also examines how drilling, loading, hauling, and plant feed are managed as in-house or contracted services, and how maintenance and supply chain priorities are agreed with production. Participants work with the management frameworks that shape responsible operations, including ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 55000 for asset management, and the ICMM Mining Principles, and they learn how accountabilities are shared between owners, mine managers, contractors, host communities, and regulators. Workforce planning, rosters for remote sites, supervisor development, contractor performance, budgeting, and risk-based decisions complete the scope. The course concerns managing and governing an operation; it does not teach hands-on technical or operator skills. The course is delivered through mine site case studies, performance data exercises, cost analysis, contractor scenario discussions, and a final operations management workshop. Participants leave with a site performance dashboard outline, a unit cost breakdown template, a shift and short-interval control routine, a contractor scorecard, and a site improvement plan they can adapt to their own operation.
