This comprehensive training course provides an integrated framework for business planning, budgeting, and forecasting within the insurance industry. It focuses on connecting strategic objectives with financial plans, operating budgets, business targets, resource allocation, and performance management to support sustainable profitability and informed decision-making. The programme examines the specific planning and financial management requirements of insurance organizations, including premium growth, underwriting performance, claims costs, operating expenses, commissions, acquisition costs, investment income, capital requirements, and portfolio development. Participants will explore how these elements interact within the insurance business model and how they should be incorporated into realistic and responsive financial plans. The course also addresses modern forecasting techniques for insurance organizations, including driver-based forecasting, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and performance projections. Particular emphasis is placed on developing forecasts that reflect changes in claims experience, pricing, portfolio mix, market conditions, customer behavior, operating costs, and emerging risks. Through practical exercises, insurance business cases, budgeting simulations, financial analysis, forecasting models, and management workshops, participants will develop the ability to prepare integrated business plans and budgets, assess financial performance against plan, identify deviations, revise forecasts, and recommend corrective actions. The programme concludes with the development of an integrated insurance business planning, budgeting, and forecasting framework.
