The Human Factors in Aviation Training Course provides a comprehensive understanding of the human, organizational, and operational factors that influence aviation safety, performance, and reliability. The course examines how human capabilities and limitations affect flight operations, aircraft maintenance, air traffic management, airport operations, and ground handling activities. It emphasizes the importance of understanding human performance to prevent errors, improve operational coordination, and strengthen safety across aviation organizations. Participants explore the principles of human factors, including human performance limitations, situational awareness, attention, perception, memory, decision-making, and workload management. The programme examines how fatigue, stress, time pressure, environmental conditions, and individual differences can influence performance and contribute to operational errors. Particular attention is given to recognizing performance-related risks and implementing practical measures that support consistent and safe operations. The course also focuses on communication, teamwork, leadership, and coordination in safety-critical aviation environments. Participants examine Crew Resource Management (CRM), effective information exchange, conflict management, assertiveness, and decision-making under pressure. The programme highlights the importance of shared situational awareness and structured communication between flight crews, maintenance teams, air traffic controllers, ground handling personnel, and other operational stakeholders. Another key area is the relationship between human factors and organizational safety management. Participants examine error management, incident reporting, investigation principles, safety culture, and the role of organizational systems in shaping human performance. The course explores the practical application of the Dirty Dozen, the SHELL model, and other recognized human factors concepts to identify performance risks, understand error pathways, and develop effective preventive measures. Through practical exercises, aviation case studies, scenario-based discussions, and human error analysis workshops, participants develop the skills required to recognize human performance risks and recommend appropriate interventions. The programme promotes a proactive approach to aviation safety by integrating human factors awareness into daily operations, training, maintenance practices, and organizational decision-making.
