The Hotel General Management & Operations Training Course equips general managers, hotel managers, and department heads preparing for senior roles with the integrated view needed to run a complete hotel as a single business. Hospitality investment across the Gulf and Africa is bringing new city hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments into operation, and these properties need leaders who can balance guest experience, profit, people, asset care, and owner expectations at the same time. Where service quality programs concentrate on guest contact and service standards, this course focuses on managing the entire hotel. Participants examine how rooms, food and beverage, sales, engineering, finance, and human resources fit together, how the general manager sets priorities across them, and how daily operating decisions affect departmental profit, guest satisfaction, and the long-term value of the asset. Participants work with the management tools that shape a well-run property, including the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), key measures such as occupancy, average daily rate, RevPAR, and gross operating profit, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management, and HACCP for food safety oversight. Annual budgeting, pre-opening planning, brand standards, owner reporting, workforce localization, crisis management, and sustainability complete the scope. The course is delivered through hotel case studies, department performance reviews, budgeting exercises, crisis simulations, and a final general management workshop. Participants leave with a daily operating routine, a department KPI dashboard, a budget review template, a crisis response checklist, and a hotel business plan outline they can adapt to their own property.
