The Ethics & Integrity in Procurement Training Course equips procurement professionals, committee members, and managers with the principles, practical tools, and confidence to make sound ethical decisions and uphold integrity throughout the procurement process. In government entities, ministries, banks, oil and gas companies, and large corporations, procurement professionals act as custodians of public funds or shareholder resources and interact daily with suppliers who have a strong interest in the outcome of their decisions. Trust in the fairness and impartiality of procurement is essential to organizational reputation, supplier confidence, value for money, and legal compliance. Integrity challenges in procurement rarely begin with obvious wrongdoing. They often start with gray areas: a supplier offering hospitality during a tender, a long-standing relationship that affects objectivity, pressure from a senior manager to favor a particular bidder, a request to share confidential information, or a family connection that has not been declared. Without clear standards, practical guidance, and a supportive culture, well-intentioned professionals can make decisions that damage their own reputation and that of their organization. Policies and codes alone are not enough; people need the judgment and confidence to apply them in real situations. This course takes a practical, scenario-based approach to ethics and integrity in procurement. Participants explore core ethical principles and professional standards, including recognized international principles for integrity in public procurement and professional codes of conduct for procurement practitioners. The program covers structured ethical decision-making models, identifying and managing conflicts of interest, gifts, hospitality and benefits, confidentiality and information handling, fair and equal treatment of suppliers, managing supplier relationships professionally, resisting undue pressure, and integrity responsibilities of tender and evaluation committee members. It also addresses speaking up and whistleblowing, the role of leaders in shaping an ethical climate, supplier codes of conduct, and responsible procurement considerations such as labor practices, human rights, and sustainability. Throughout the five days, participants work through realistic ethical dilemmas and case studies drawn from public and private sector procurement. They leave with a personal ethical decision-making framework, a conflict of interest management guide, a gifts and hospitality decision tool, a supplier code of conduct outline, and an integrity action plan for their team or organization.
