Course Overview

This course develops the practical knowledge and technical skills required to secure wireless networks in enterprise environments. Participants learn how to identify wireless vulnerabilities, protect access points and connected devices, implement secure authentication and encryption, and reduce the risks of unauthorized access and wireless-based attacks. The programme covers wireless security architecture, Wi-Fi security protocols, access point configuration, authentication mechanisms, network segmentation, rogue access point detection, wireless monitoring, and incident response. Participants also explore security assessment techniques and practical methods for strengthening wireless infrastructure across corporate offices, government facilities, financial institutions, and industrial environments.

Learning Objectives

  • By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Explain wireless networking principles and common wireless security risks.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in wireless infrastructure, access points, and connected devices.
  • Compare wireless security protocols and select appropriate protection mechanisms.
  • Configure secure authentication, encryption, and access control for wireless networks.
  • Apply enterprise wireless security practices using WPA2-Enterprise and WPA3-Enterprise where supported.
  • Design secure wireless network architectures with appropriate segmentation and isolation.
  • Detect rogue access points, unauthorized clients, and suspicious wireless activity.
  • Conduct authorized wireless security assessments and interpret their findings.
  • Implement wireless monitoring, logging, and incident response procedures.
  • Develop practical recommendations for maintaining and improving wireless network security.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for network engineers, wireless network administrators, cybersecurity specialists, IT infrastructure professionals, information security officers, and technical support teams responsible for deploying, managing, or protecting wireless networks. It is also suitable for professionals involved in network architecture, security assessments, infrastructure modernization, and the protection of mobile devices and enterprise connectivity. The programme is particularly relevant to IT managers, security operations teams, systems administrators, and technical consultants working in government entities, ministries, banks, financial institutions, oil and gas companies, industrial facilities, and large corporations. Participants should have a basic understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and wireless connectivity.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explain the architecture and security characteristics of modern wireless networks.
  • Assess common wireless threats, vulnerabilities, and attack scenarios.
  • Select suitable wireless encryption and authentication mechanisms based on organizational requirements.
  • Configure access points and wireless controllers using secure configuration practices.
  • Implement enterprise authentication and appropriate access restrictions.
  • Design wireless network segmentation for employees, guests, contractors, and operational devices.
  • Identify rogue access points and investigate suspicious wireless activity.
  • Interpret wireless security assessment findings and prioritize corrective actions.
  • Apply monitoring and incident response procedures to wireless security events.
  • Develop a wireless security improvement plan supported by documented controls and review procedures.
