The Well Intervention, Workover & Rigless Operations Training Course equips petroleum, production, completion, and well engineers, supervisors, and operations personnel with the practical knowledge needed to plan, select, execute, and evaluate well interventions and workovers that restore or enhance production safely and cost-effectively. As fields mature, well intervention becomes one of the most important tools for managing production decline, water and gas breakthrough, sand production, scale and deposits, mechanical failures, and well integrity issues. Selecting the right well, the right intervention method, and the right pressure control and barrier strategy can add significant production and reserves while avoiding costly failures and well control incidents. The course covers the full intervention cycle. Participants learn the reasons for well interventions, well performance diagnostics and candidate selection using production data, well tests, production logs, and nodal analysis, and well integrity principles, including well barriers and annular pressure management. The program then addresses rigless intervention methods, including slickline, electric line, coiled tubing, and hydraulic workover and snubbing units, and rig-based workovers, followed by key intervention operations such as logging, perforating, stimulation, scale and deposit removal, sand control, zonal isolation and water shut-off, artificial lift change-outs, fishing, and milling. Participants also examine well kill methods, pressure control equipment, intervention programs and risk assessment, health, safety, and simultaneous operations, intervention economics, and post-job evaluation and lessons learned. The course is delivered through case studies, equipment schematics, intervention planning workshops, and economic evaluation exercises. Participants leave with a well candidate selection matrix, an intervention method selection guide, a well barrier and pressure control checklist, an intervention program template, and an intervention economics and post-job evaluation template.
