Course Overview

The Vendor Inspection & Expediting Training Course develops the practical skills required to monitor supplier manufacturing activities, verify product quality, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment in line with contractual and project requirements. It focuses on coordinating vendor inspections and expediting activities to identify potential delays, detect quality issues early, and maintain control over procurement schedules and technical deliverables. The course covers vendor document review, inspection planning, manufacturing progress monitoring, inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality verification, factory acceptance testing (FAT), nonconformity management, and shipment readiness. Participants learn how to track production milestones, review manufacturing schedules, conduct progress assessments, coordinate with suppliers and third-party inspection agencies, and verify compliance with purchase orders, technical specifications, and approved documentation. Through practical exercises and realistic procurement scenarios, participants develop the ability to identify schedule risks, prepare expediting reports, manage inspection findings, escalate delays, and coordinate corrective actions. The programme supports stronger supplier accountability, improved procurement visibility, reduced delivery disruptions, and more reliable execution of projects across engineering, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy, and industrial sectors.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of vendor inspection and expediting within procurement and project delivery.
  • Develop vendor inspection and expediting plans aligned with contractual requirements and project schedules.
