Course Overview

The Technical Analysis of Financial Markets (CFTe Exam Preparation) Training Course equips traders, analysts, portfolio managers, and treasury and investment professionals with a structured, practical understanding of technical analysis and the exam preparation needed to approach the Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) certification offered by the International Federation of Technical Analysts with confidence. Technical analysis is widely used across equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodity, and cryptocurrency markets to identify trends, time entries and exits, and manage risk. Applied without discipline, however, it can lead to overreliance on individual indicators, inconsistent decisions, and poor risk control, which is why a rigorous, evidence-based approach is essential. The course covers technical analysis from foundations to integrated trading and investment decision making. Participants learn the principles and assumptions of technical analysis, Dow Theory, chart construction including line, bar, candlestick, and point and figure charts, trend analysis, support and resistance, trendlines and channels, and reversal and continuation chart patterns. The program then addresses candlestick analysis, moving averages, momentum indicators and oscillators, volume and open interest, market breadth, Fibonacci analysis, an introduction to Elliott Wave and cycle analysis, sentiment indicators, relative strength, and intermarket analysis. Participants also examine trading system design and back-testing, risk and money management including position sizing and stop placement, behavioral finance and trading psychology, the statistical basis of technical analysis, and the structure and question styles of the CFTe examinations, with extensive practice on real market charts and exam-style questions. The course is delivered through live chart analysis, indicator and pattern recognition exercises, trading plan development, back-testing demonstrations, and practice questions and mock tests. Participants leave with a technical analysis reference guide, an indicator and pattern quick reference, a trading plan and risk management template, a bank of practice questions, and a personal study plan. Certification requirements, syllabus, and exam format are set by the International Federation of Technical Analysts and should be confirmed through official sources. CFTe is a trademark of its respective owner, and the course is educational and does not constitute investment advice.
