The Supply Chain Visibility & Control Tower Management Training Course equips supply chain, logistics, procurement, and operations professionals with the concepts, design principles, and operating practices needed to build end-to-end supply chain visibility and establish effective control towers that detect issues early, coordinate responses, and improve decision making. In government entities, ministries, healthcare systems, banks, energy and utility companies, manufacturing, retail, and distribution organizations, and large corporations, supply chains span many suppliers, sites, carriers, and service providers. Without timely, reliable visibility, organizations often learn about delays, shortages, and disruptions only after service has already been affected. Many organizations attempt to improve visibility by adding more reports or tracking tools, but still struggle to act in time. Data may be fragmented across internal systems and external partners, information from suppliers and carriers may be late or incomplete, and different teams may respond to the same problem in different ways. Some control tower initiatives focus heavily on technology and dashboards without defining clear objectives, exception rules, response procedures, decision rights, and skilled people to run them. As a result, alerts are generated but not acted upon, and the expected improvements in service, cost, and resilience are not achieved. This course provides a structured, practical approach to supply chain visibility and control tower management. Participants learn the dimensions of visibility, including inbound, internal, outbound, and multi-tier visibility, the barriers that limit visibility, and the data sources and integration methods that enable it, including electronic data interchange, APIs, IoT, carrier and partner data, and supply chain event data standards. The program covers control tower concepts, types, and maturity levels, from basic monitoring to predictive, prescriptive, and increasingly automated decision support. Participants then learn how to design a control tower, including scope, objectives, KPIs, exception management rules, alerts, response playbooks, decision rights, governance, organizational roles, and operating models. The course also addresses technology platforms and build-or-buy decisions, predictive estimated times of arrival, scenario and what-if analysis, collaboration with suppliers, carriers, and logistics providers, risk monitoring and disruption response, measuring control tower performance, building the business case, and planning implementation through pilots, scaling, and change management. The course is delivered through an interactive, application-focused approach with control tower design workshops, exception management simulations, case studies, and group exercises. Participants leave with a visibility gap assessment, a control tower scope and objectives definition, an exception management and alert matrix, response playbooks for key disruption scenarios, a control tower operating model and roles design, a control tower KPI dashboard, and an implementation roadmap for their organization.
