  • Relationship between risk management, safety procedures, and organizational objectives.
  • Legal, regulatory, and internal safety requirements.
  • Developing a proactive safety culture and encouraging workforce participation.
  • Integrating safety considerations into daily planning and supervisory decisions.
  • Practical Exercise: Review a workplace scenario, identify hazards, assess supervisory responsibilities, and determine the immediate actions required to control risks.
Day 2

Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Prioritization

  • Systematic workplace hazard identification techniques.
  • Conducting qualitative risk assessments using likelihood and severity.
  • Understanding risk matrices and risk acceptance criteria.
  • Evaluating exposure, potential consequences, and existing control measures.

  • Supervising high-risk activities, including work at height, hot work, lifting operations, and confined space entry.
  • Conducting pre-job briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Verifying worker competence, authorization, and understanding of assigned tasks.
  • Managing contractor safety and coordination between work teams.
  • Recognizing unsafe acts and conditions and applying stop-work authority.
  • Monitoring compliance with safe work procedures and control measures.
