Reliability statistics and Weibull analysis are essential techniques for understanding equipment life, predicting failure behavior, and improving asset reliability. By analyzing failure times and operating data, organizations can identify recurring failure patterns, estimate the likelihood of future failures, and make better-informed decisions about maintenance strategies, replacement planning, and lifecycle costs. This course develops practical skills in reliability data analysis, probability distributions, failure rate interpretation, and Weibull modeling. Participants will learn to interpret the shape, scale, and location parameters of the Weibull distribution, estimate reliability and failure probabilities, calculate Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), and evaluate failure behavior across different operating conditions. The course also covers censored data, parameter estimation, goodness-of-fit assessment, and the limitations of statistical models. Through worked examples, equipment failure datasets, and applied case studies, participants will develop the ability to analyze reliability trends, identify early-life, random, and wear-out failure patterns, estimate useful life, and support evidence-based maintenance and asset management decisions. The techniques are relevant to industrial plants, oil and gas facilities, power generation, manufacturing, transportation, and other asset-intensive environments.
