This advanced programme provides a practical framework for managing radio spectrum resources and licensing radio frequency use, with emphasis on spectrum planning, frequency allocation, assignment procedures, licensing frameworks, interference management, coordination, monitoring, and regulatory compliance. The course examines the technical, regulatory, and economic dimensions of spectrum management and connects spectrum decisions with network deployment, wireless infrastructure, service development, and the efficient use of scarce frequency resources. Participants will work with practical approaches for assessing frequency applications, evaluating electromagnetic compatibility, identifying interference risks, establishing licensing conditions, coordinating frequency assignments, and monitoring compliance with authorised spectrum use. The programme also addresses spectrum challenges associated with 4G and 5G networks, Internet of Things, private networks, satellite communications, non-terrestrial networks, spectrum sharing, and emerging radio technologies, enabling participants to make informed decisions in increasingly complex wireless environments.
