Course Overview

The Property Management & Leasing Operations Training Course equips property managers, leasing teams, and public and private asset owners with the operating disciplines needed to run residential, commercial, and mixed portfolios well. It is a management course on how a portfolio is run day to day, and it does not prepare participants for any brokerage or property management license. Across the Gulf and Africa, owners, government housing bodies, and endowment and pension portfolios increasingly expect professional operations, clear records, and reliable income. The course follows the tenancy from marketing to move-out. Participants examine management agreements, leasing strategy, tenant mix, lease negotiation, rent collection, arrears, renewals, and service charges. They also cover maintenance planning, vendor control, tenant communication, and the role of ISO 41001 as a facility management reference. Participants study how regulators supervise leasing, tenancy registration, and property management as a governance topic, how to use lease abstracts and rent rolls, and how to report net operating income and occupancy to owners. The course is delivered through portfolio case studies, lease review exercises, service charge calculations, tenant scenario role plays, and a final workshop. Participants leave with a lease abstract template, an arrears procedure, a service charge budget outline, and a monthly owner report format.

Learning Objectives

  • Define the property manager's duties to owners, tenants, and service providers.
  • Review management agreements, authority limits, and fee structures.
  • Develop a leasing strategy with target tenants, rent levels, and tenant mix.
  • Manage the leasing process from enquiry to lease signing and move-in.
  • Negotiate key commercial lease terms with residential and commercial tenants.
  • Maintain accurate lease abstracts, rent rolls, and critical date records.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for property managers, leasing managers and officers, tenant relations staff, facilities coordinators, and accountants who handle rent and service charges for residential, commercial, and mixed portfolios and who want a consistent way of working. It is equally relevant for officials in housing ministries, municipalities, endowment bodies, and government property departments who manage public housing or rented assets. They will gain a practical view of how tenancies and shared costs should be run and reported. Professionals in real estate companies, family-owned property groups, developers retaining assets, funds, and owners' associations will find the course directly applicable, particularly teams setting up or standardizing a property management function.

  • Explain the duties of a property manager to owners, tenants, and vendors and manage conflicts of interest.
