Course Overview

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) Exam Preparation Training Course equips experienced programme managers and senior project professionals with the structured review, knowledge consolidation, and exam practice needed to prepare with confidence for the PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, while strengthening their ability to manage complex programmes that deliver strategic benefits. In government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, healthcare systems, energy and utility companies, construction, infrastructure, and technology organizations, and large corporations, programme managers are responsible for coordinating multiple related projects and activities to achieve outcomes aligned with organizational strategy. The PgMP credential is widely recognized as evidence of advanced competence in programme management and the ability to operate at a strategic level. Candidates for the PgMP are typically experienced practitioners, yet many find the exam challenging. Questions are scenario-based and test the application of programme management concepts, terminology, and practices as defined in PMI's standard for program management and the current PgMP examination content outline, rather than project management techniques applied at a larger scale. Candidates may be less familiar with the strategic and benefits-focused perspective expected at programme level, the distinctions between programme and project responsibilities, programme governance structures and decision making, stakeholder engagement across complex environments, and the activities performed across the programme lifecycle. Without structured preparation and sufficient practice, candidates may find it difficult to interpret situational questions and select the best programme-level response. This course provides a comprehensive, structured review aligned with the performance domains of the current PgMP Examination Content Outline: strategic program alignment, program benefits management, program stakeholder engagement, program governance, and program life cycle management. Participants review key concepts from PMI's standard for program management and related guidance, and relate them to their own programme experience. The program covers the relationships between portfolios, programmes, and projects, programme business cases, charters, and roadmaps, strategic alignment and environmental assessment, benefits identification, analysis, planning, delivery, transition, and sustainment, stakeholder identification, analysis, engagement planning, and communication, and programme governance frameworks, including governance boards, decision making, reviews, and programme-level risk, issue, change, quality, and resource management. Participants then review the programme lifecycle, including programme definition, delivery, component initiation, integration and transition, and programme closure. Throughout the course, participants practice scenario-based questions, learn techniques for approaching programme-level situational questions, and complete a full-length practice exam with detailed review and a personal performance analysis. Eligibility requirements, application and review processes, exam content, and exam format for the PgMP certification are set by the Project Management Institute and should be confirmed on PMI's official website. PMI and PgMP are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc. The course is delivered through an interactive, exam-focused approach combining concise concept reviews, case scenarios drawn from programme practice, domain-based practice questions, and a full mock exam. Participants leave with a domain-by-domain study guide, a programme management terminology and concepts summary, a programme lifecycle and governance reference, a bank of practice questions, a personal study plan, and a mock exam performance analysis identifying areas for further review.
