The Predictive Project Analytics & AI-Based Forecasting Training Course equips project managers, PMO professionals, project control specialists, and analysts with the concepts, methods, and practical tools needed to move from reporting what has happened to predicting what is likely to happen in projects and portfolios. In government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, healthcare systems, energy and utility companies, construction, engineering, and technology organizations, and large corporations, projects generate large amounts of schedule, cost, risk, resource, and performance data. Predictive analytics and artificial intelligence can turn this data into earlier warnings of delays and overruns, more realistic forecasts, and better-informed decisions. Most project reporting remains backward-looking. Status reports describe past progress, forecasts are often based on simple extrapolation or the optimism of project teams, and problems are recognized only when they are already severe. Organizations may hold years of historical project data but rarely use it to calibrate estimates or identify patterns that predict success or failure. At the same time, interest in artificial intelligence is growing rapidly, but many project professionals are unsure what it can realistically do, what data it requires, how to evaluate its outputs, and how to use it responsibly without over-relying on models they do not understand. This course provides a practical, accessible introduction to predictive project analytics and AI-based forecasting, designed for project professionals rather than data scientists. Participants learn the progression from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive and prescriptive analytics, and how to build strong data foundations, including historical project data, data quality, benchmarks, and the selection of meaningful predictive variables. The program covers established forecasting methods, including earned value and earned schedule forecasting, regression analysis, time series techniques, reference class forecasting, and probabilistic forecasting with Monte Carlo simulation. Participants then explore machine learning concepts for projects, including regression and classification models that predict cost overruns, schedule delays, and project risk levels, clustering to identify project patterns, and natural language processing to analyze status reports, risk registers, and lessons learned. The course also addresses the use of generative AI to support reporting, risk identification, and analysis, evaluating model accuracy and reliability, explainability, bias, data privacy and ethics, governance of AI in project management informed by emerging international standards, human oversight of AI-supported decisions, practical tools ranging from spreadsheets and business intelligence platforms to low-code machine learning and Python-based options, and planning the adoption of predictive analytics in the PMO. The course is delivered through an interactive, hands-on approach using realistic project datasets, spreadsheet and business intelligence tools, and guided demonstrations of machine learning and AI tools. Participants leave with a project data readiness assessment, a predictive variable and data template, a forecasting model workbook, an early warning model design, a model evaluation checklist, a responsible AI use checklist for project management, and a predictive analytics adoption roadmap for their organization.
