Course Overview

The Organizational Culture Change & Transformation Training Course equips leaders and professionals with practical frameworks to understand, shape, and sustain organizational culture as a driver of performance. In government entities, ministries, banks, oil and gas companies, and large corporations, strategies for digital transformation, customer and citizen centricity, innovation, safety excellence, and institutional performance all depend on how people think, behave, and make decisions every day. Culture determines whether new strategies are embraced or quietly resisted, whether values statements are lived or ignored, and whether improvements last beyond the launch phase. Culture is often described as intangible, yet it can be diagnosed, discussed, and deliberately shaped. It is expressed in leadership behaviors, decision-making patterns, meetings, performance conversations, rewards, recognition, stories, and the unwritten rules that guide how work actually gets done. Culture change initiatives lose credibility when they rely on slogans, posters, and one-off events without changing these everyday mechanisms. This course focuses on the practical levers that make culture change real and measurable. Participants explore recognized culture frameworks, including Schein's three levels of culture, the Competing Values Framework, and the Cultural Web, and learn how to use them to assess current culture, define the target culture, and identify the gaps that matter most for strategy. The program covers translating values into observable behaviors, the role of leaders as culture carriers, aligning HR systems and management practices with the desired culture, managing subcultures and culture integration during mergers or restructuring, and measuring cultural progress over time. Throughout the five days, participants apply each tool to their own organization or unit. They leave with a culture diagnostic, a target culture profile, a behavior framework, a culture change roadmap, and practical measures to track and sustain progress.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze the concept of organizational culture and its influence on strategy execution, performance, and employee engagement on Day 1.
  • Apply recognized culture models, including Schein's three levels, the Competing Values Framework, and the Cultural Web, to diagnose the current culture of a selected organization or unit.
  • Develop a target culture profile that is directly linked to strategic priorities and organizational purpose.
  • Assess the gap between current and target culture and identify the priority shifts with the greatest impact on performance.
  • Design a behavior framework that translates organizational values into specific, observable behaviors for leaders and employees.
  • Strengthen the role of senior leaders and managers as culture carriers through role modeling, decision making, and everyday interactions.
  • Align HR systems, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, recognition, and leadership development, with the desired culture.
  • Evaluate the impact of subcultures and develop approaches for culture integration during mergers, restructuring, or major transformation.
  • Implement culture change interventions, including rituals, symbols, stories, communication, and employee involvement initiatives.
  • Develop a culture measurement approach using surveys, behavioral indicators, and qualitative feedback to track progress.
  • Design a culture change roadmap with phases, responsibilities, and success indicators by the end of Day 5.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for senior executives, directors, and department heads who shape organizational direction and set the tone for culture, as well as HR directors, HR business partners, organizational development specialists, and culture and engagement professionals responsible for designing and leading culture initiatives. It is also relevant for transformation office staff, strategy professionals, internal communication leaders, and learning and development managers who support culture change through programs and communication. It is particularly valuable for leaders in ministries and government entities building cultures of service excellence, innovation, accountability, and institutional performance; in banks and financial institutions strengthening customer-centric, risk-aware, and digital cultures; and in oil and gas and industrial organizations embedding safety culture, operational discipline, and collaboration across sites and functions. Leaders managing mergers, restructuring, or integration of entities, as well as institutional excellence and quality professionals, will benefit from the practical tools for aligning cultures and sustaining desired behaviors.
