The Mine Planning & Production Scheduling for Managers Training Course equips mine managers, executives, finance leaders, and government officials with the ability to read a mine plan, question it, and take sound decisions from it. The focus is on reading plans and deciding, not on design engineering: participants do not learn to design pits or stopes or to operate planning software. Mining operations across the Gulf and Africa commit large amounts of capital on the strength of plans that few of the people approving them have been taught to challenge, so a clear managerial understanding of planning is a direct safeguard of value, of investor confidence, and of the long-term worth of the ore body. The course follows the planning chain from resource to shipment. Participants learn how a geological model becomes a mineral resource and an ore reserve, how the JORC Code and other reporting codes aligned with the CRIRSCO Template frame confidence, and how cut-off grade, stripping ratio, mining sequence, and plant capacity shape a life-of-mine plan. They then trace how that long-term plan cascades into budgets, quarterly and monthly schedules, and weekly production targets, and they examine, in plain management terms, the assumptions on productivity, equipment availability, dilution, recovery, and price that sit behind each step. Participants practice the decisions managers actually face: comparing scenarios, reading net present value and cash flow outputs at a high level, choosing between fleet and contractor options, managing stockpiles and blending, and responding when a plan is missed. Reconciliation between the geological model, the plan, and actual production receives particular attention, as do plan governance, sign-off, change control, and the honest reporting of plan risk to boards, investors, and regulators. The course is delivered through planning case studies, exercises on sample plan outputs and schedules, scenario comparisons, plan review simulations, and a final plan review workshop. Participants leave with a mine plan review checklist, an assumptions register, a schedule attainment dashboard outline, a reconciliation reporting template, and a plan governance procedure they can adapt to their own operation.
