The Major Project Construction Critical Hazard Control Training Course is a specialist program dedicated to the hazards that cause fatal and life-changing injuries on large construction sites. Rather than treating safety as one element of site management or contractor selection, the course works through each critical hazard end to end: work at height and falling objects, vehicle and mobile plant movement, cranes and lifting operations, excavations, temporary works, electrical work, and heat stress, and then joins the controls into one project-wide safety plan that every subcontractor tier must follow. Major projects bring together thousands of workers, many subcontractors, multilingual crews, congested work fronts, and compressed programs. Under these conditions, generic risk assessments and paper procedures are not enough. Participants learn how owners, project management consultants, and principal contractors define critical controls, verify that they are in place at the workface, and stop work when they are missing, drawing on ISO 45001, the ILO Safety and Health in Construction Convention, and established codes of practice for temporary works and crane operations. The course examines how fatal hazards are eliminated or reduced at the design and planning stage, how high-risk activities are planned through lift plans, temporary works procedures, excavation permits, traffic management plans, and electrical isolation, and how supervisors confirm controls before each shift. Through hazard workshops, site scenarios, incident case analysis, and planning exercises, participants learn to set critical control standards, verify them in the field, investigate serious potential incidents, and lead a consistent safety culture across owners, contractors, and subcontractors on complex construction programs.
