Course Overview

Lean Six Sigma provides banks and financial institutions with a structured approach to improving operational efficiency, reducing processing errors, strengthening service quality, and controlling costs. By combining Lean principles to eliminate waste with Six Sigma techniques to reduce process variation, financial institutions can streamline workflows, improve transaction accuracy, and deliver more reliable customer services. This course explores the application of Lean Six Sigma across banking and financial operations, including account opening, loan processing, payment services, customer onboarding, regulatory reporting, complaints handling, and back-office activities. Participants will learn to apply the DMAIC methodology, map financial processes, analyse root causes, measure performance, and identify improvement opportunities while maintaining regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management requirements. Through practical exercises and banking scenarios, participants will develop the skills to reduce turnaround times, eliminate duplicated activities, improve first-time-right processing, and strengthen coordination between departments. The course also focuses on performance measurement and process controls to sustain improvements, support operational resilience, and enhance customer experience across banking and financial services.
