The Job Safety Analysis (JSA) & Task Risk Assessment Training Course provides a practical and structured approach to identifying workplace hazards, evaluating task-related risks, and establishing effective control measures before work begins. The programme emphasizes proactive risk management as a fundamental element of occupational health and safety, helping organizations prevent incidents, reduce injuries, and strengthen operational reliability. Participants explore the principles of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), including the systematic breakdown of work activities into individual steps, identification of potential hazards at each stage, assessment of associated risks, and selection of appropriate preventive and protective measures. The course explains how JSA supports safer work planning, particularly for non-routine activities, maintenance operations, industrial tasks, and work performed under changing conditions. The programme also examines task risk assessment methodologies, including hazard identification, likelihood and consequence evaluation, risk rating, and prioritization of control measures. Participants learn how to apply the hierarchy of controls, distinguish between existing and additional controls, and evaluate whether the proposed measures adequately reduce risk before work authorization and execution. Special attention is given to integrating JSA with permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, method statements, operational procedures, and contractor safety management. The course addresses dynamic risk assessment, changes in work conditions, simultaneous operations, human factors, and the importance of involving frontline employees and supervisors in identifying hazards that may not be evident during preliminary planning. Through practical exercises, case studies, and a final workshop, participants develop the skills to prepare clear, task-specific JSA documents, communicate identified risks effectively, verify control measures in the workplace, and review assessments when conditions change. The programme supports a consistent, documented, and participatory approach to workplace risk management across industrial and operational environments.
