Course Overview

The IT Project Management Training Course equips IT project managers, business analysts, IT managers, and PMO professionals with the methods and practical tools needed to plan, deliver, and transition technology projects successfully, from software development and enterprise system implementations to infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, cybersecurity initiatives, and digital services. In government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, healthcare systems, telecommunications, energy and utility companies, and large corporations, IT projects are central to digital transformation, yet they frequently suffer from unclear requirements, scope creep, integration and data problems, vendor issues, inadequate testing, and poor user adoption, leading to delays, cost overruns, and benefits that are never realized. The course covers IT project management across the full delivery life cycle. Participants learn the characteristics and common failure causes of IT projects, how to choose between predictive, agile, hybrid, and DevOps-oriented delivery approaches, and how to align projects with business cases and IT governance. The program then addresses requirements elicitation and management, solution architecture and design considerations, IT procurement and vendor management including software-as-a-service and licensing contracts and service level agreements, estimation and planning, team and vendor coordination, and IT project risk, cost, and information security management. Participants also examine testing and quality assurance, including system integration and user acceptance testing, data migration, release and deployment, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare, organizational change management and user adoption, transition to IT operations, project performance measurement, post-implementation review, and benefits realization. The course is delivered through IT project case studies, requirements and planning workshops, vendor evaluation exercises, cutover and go-live simulations, and lessons learned analysis. Participants leave with an IT project delivery approach selection guide, a requirements traceability matrix template, an IT vendor evaluation matrix, a test and cutover planning checklist, and an IT project transition and benefits realization template.
