Course Overview

The Internal Communication Strategy Training Course equips internal communication professionals, HR and communication staff, and managers with the knowledge and practical tools needed to plan, deliver, and measure internal communication that informs, engages, and aligns employees and supports culture, change, and performance. Internal communication is far more than cascading announcements: it shapes how employees understand strategy, how engaged and informed they feel, how well change is adopted, and how connected they are to the organization's purpose and to each other. In government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, and large organizations, strong internal communication drives engagement, alignment, and trust, while weak internal communication leaves employees uninformed, disengaged, and resistant to change. The course covers internal communication from strategy to channels, campaigns, and measurement. Participants learn the role and value of internal communication, its relationship with engagement, culture, and leadership, and the foundations of internal communication strategy aligned with organizational goals. The program then addresses understanding and segmenting internal audiences, defining objectives and key messages, and the internal communication channel mix, including face-to-face, digital, intranet, email, meetings, and emerging employee communication platforms. Participants cover planning and running internal communication campaigns, leadership and manager communication and cascading, employee engagement and two-way communication and feedback, and communicating change effectively. Participants also examine storytelling and content for internal audiences, communicating in a crisis internally, communication in dispersed, hybrid, and frontline workforces, aligning internal and external communication and employer brand, measuring and evaluating internal communication, roles, governance, and building internal communication capability, and the responsible use of digital tools and AI in internal communication. The course is delivered through strategy and planning workshops, channel and campaign exercises, message and content development, and measurement practice. Participants leave with an internal communication strategy template, an audience and channel mapping toolkit, a campaign planning template, a leadership and change communication guide, and an internal communication measurement framework.
