Course Overview

The Integrating Change Management into Project Delivery Training Course equips project managers, change managers, PMO professionals, and sponsors with the methods and tools needed to integrate the people side of change into project planning and delivery so that new systems, processes, structures, and services are adopted, used effectively, and deliver their intended benefits. In government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, healthcare systems, energy and utility companies, and large corporations, most projects change how people work. A project can be delivered on time and within budget and still fail if employees, managers, and customers do not adopt the change. In many organizations, project management and change management operate separately. Project plans focus on technical deliverables, while change activities such as communication and training are added late, treated as a single launch event, or delegated to other departments without coordination. Change impacts on roles, processes, and teams may not be assessed, readiness may be assumed rather than measured, sponsors and line managers may not be prepared for their roles, and resistance may be addressed only after it appears. Adoption and usage are rarely measured, and when benefits fall short, the root cause is often a lack of structured change management integrated into delivery. This course provides a practical approach to integrating change management into project delivery, informed by recognized change management frameworks, models, and standards. Participants learn why the people side of change determines project outcomes, how individual and organizational change occurs, and how widely used change models can guide practical action. The program covers the roles of sponsors, project managers, change managers, line managers, and change champion networks, and how to integrate change management activities into each stage of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, go-live, and closure. Participants learn to conduct change impact assessments, stakeholder and readiness assessments, and to develop an integrated change management plan aligned with the project plan and schedule, including sponsorship roadmaps, communication plans, training and capability plans, and coaching plans for managers. The course also addresses managing resistance, reinforcing and sustaining change, defining and measuring adoption, usage, and proficiency, linking adoption to benefits realization, managing change saturation across portfolios, applying change management in agile and digital initiatives, cultural considerations, and embedding change management capability within the PMO and project governance. The course is delivered through an interactive, application-focused approach with case studies, change impact and readiness assessment exercises, planning workshops, and role plays for sponsor and manager conversations. Participants leave with a change impact assessment template, a stakeholder and readiness assessment tool, an integrated project and change management plan outline, a sponsor roadmap, a communication and training plan template, a resistance management guide, and an adoption measurement dashboard design.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for project managers, program managers, change managers and practitioners, PMO heads and analysts, and business analysts responsible for delivering projects that change processes, systems, structures, or services. It is particularly valuable for professionals in ministries, government entities, and public authorities delivering transformation, digital government, and service improvement initiatives; in banks and financial institutions implementing new systems, products, and operating models; in healthcare systems introducing new clinical systems, processes, and facilities; and in energy, utilities, manufacturing, and service organizations implementing restructuring, automation, and digital initiatives. Senior executives and steering committee members who sponsor change initiatives will also benefit from the course.
