Course Overview

The Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Auditing Training Course develops the knowledge and practical skills required to plan, conduct, document, and follow up GMP audits across manufacturing environments. It focuses on evaluating compliance with applicable GMP requirements, identifying weaknesses in quality systems, and verifying that manufacturing activities consistently meet established quality and safety standards. The course covers the core principles of GMP auditing, including audit planning, risk-based assessment, documentation review, facility and equipment inspections, personnel hygiene, production controls, contamination prevention, quality control, and corrective action management. Participants explore how to evaluate procedures and records, gather objective evidence, classify audit findings, and assess the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Through practical exercises and realistic manufacturing scenarios, participants strengthen their ability to conduct structured audits, communicate findings professionally, and support continuous improvement. The programme is relevant to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food, and other regulated manufacturing environments, with audit criteria adapted to the applicable industry and regulatory framework.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain GMP principles and their role in maintaining product quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Interpret applicable GMP requirements and translate them into practical audit criteria.
  • Develop risk-based GMP audit plans, checklists, and schedules.
  • Evaluate manufacturing facilities, equipment, personnel practices, and production controls.
  • Review quality documentation, batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and traceability records.
  • Collect and verify objective evidence through interviews, observations, and document reviews.
  • Identify, classify, and document GMP nonconformities and compliance gaps.
  • Assess contamination control, hygiene practices, material handling, and storage conditions.
  • Evaluate corrective and preventive actions and verify their effectiveness.
  • Prepare clear audit reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Who Should Attend

Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) professionals. GMP auditors, internal auditors, and compliance specialists. Production and manufacturing managers and supervisors. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and food manufacturing personnel. Validation, qualification, and engineering professionals working in regulated facilities. Laboratory and microbiology personnel involved in quality and compliance activities. Regulatory affairs and quality systems specialists. Supplier quality professionals responsible for auditing manufacturers and service providers. Professionals seeking to strengthen their practical GMP inspection and audit capabilities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Interpret relevant GMP principles and regulatory expectations within the applicable industry.
  • Define audit scope, objectives, criteria, and evidence requirements.
  • Prepare structured audit plans and risk-based checklists.
  • Evaluate compliance across production, quality, documentation, and facility controls.
  • Verify the accuracy, completeness, and traceability of manufacturing records.
  • Identify deficiencies in hygiene, contamination prevention, and material control.
  • Distinguish between observations, minor deficiencies, and significant nonconformities using applicable classification criteria.
  • Document findings using objective evidence and clear statements of noncompliance.
  • Evaluate root-cause analysis and the adequacy of CAPA plans.
