The ESG & Sustainability Reporting for Mining Companies Training Course equips sustainability managers, finance and reporting teams, and mine site leaders with the practical knowledge needed to collect, verify, and report the performance data that matters most in mining. Investors, lenders, regulators, and host governments increasingly ask mining companies in the Gulf and Africa for evidence that goes well beyond general statements on sustainability. Weak or inconsistent site data quickly undermines those relationships, so the course treats reporting as a management discipline as much as a communication task. The course focuses on mining-specific indicators rather than ESG or climate disclosure in general. Participants examine tailings facility disclosure, water balance and stewardship, mine closure and rehabilitation provisions, biodiversity and land disturbance, energy and emissions at site level, safety performance, community and resettlement data, payments to governments, and responsible sourcing. Participants work with the frameworks most relevant to the sector, including the GRI Mining Sector Standard, the SASB Metals and Mining Standard, the ICMM Mining Principles, the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management, the EITI Standard, and IFRS S1 and IFRS S2. They learn to run a materiality assessment, build a data system from site to group, prepare for independent assurance, and connect sustainability figures with financial statements. The course is delivered through case studies of mining reports, indicator calculation exercises, data audit simulations, and a final reporting workshop. Participants leave with a mining materiality matrix, an indicator dictionary, a site data collection template, an assurance readiness checklist, and a report outline they can adapt to their own company.
