The Environmental Impact Assessment & Management Plans Training Course takes participants through the full EIA cycle, from screening and scoping to the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP), permit conditions, and post-approval compliance. Where environmental policy courses treat EIA as one instrument among many, this program focuses on how an assessment is planned, prepared, reviewed, and enforced. Major industrial, energy, infrastructure, and urban projects across the region need an approved EIA before construction, and regulators such as the Saudi National Center for Environmental Compliance expect studies from qualified consultants that meet a defensible technical standard.
Participants learn to screen projects, prepare terms of reference, design baseline surveys, predict impacts and judge their significance, and assess alternatives, cumulative effects, and residual impacts. The program then covers the mitigation hierarchy, stakeholder consultation and disclosure, EIA report review, the translation of commitments into an EMMP and contractor plans, and post-approval monitoring and auditing, with reference to national environmental laws, the IFC Performance Standards, and the World Bank Group EHS Guidelines.
The course is delivered through case studies, a running project scenario, significance-matrix exercises, and a report review workshop. Participants leave with a screening and scoping checklist, a baseline survey plan template, an impact significance matrix, an EMMP template, and a permit conditions compliance tracker.
