Course Overview

This advanced course develops the practical capabilities required to design enterprise security architectures that protect business systems, applications, data, networks, identities, and cloud environments while supporting operational and business objectives. The program focuses on security architecture principles, risk-driven design, defense-in-depth, security domains, identity and access architecture, network security, application and data protection, cloud security, security operations, and governance. Participants examine how security requirements can be translated into structured architecture decisions and technical controls. Through practical architecture scenarios and design workshops, participants will evaluate existing environments, identify architectural weaknesses, define appropriate security patterns, and develop security architectures that are resilient, scalable, manageable, and aligned with enterprise risk and business requirements.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyse enterprise security architecture principles and design drivers.
  • Assess business, technology, regulatory, and risk requirements affecting security architecture.
  • Develop security architecture principles, standards, and design criteria.
  • Apply defense-in-depth and zero-trust principles to enterprise environments.
  • Design identity and access architectures for users, privileged accounts, applications, and services.
  • Develop secure network and infrastructure architecture models.
  • Integrate application and data security requirements into enterprise architecture.
  • Evaluate cloud and hybrid security architecture considerations.
  • Design security monitoring, detection, and operational security capabilities.
  • Assess architectural risks, vulnerabilities, dependencies, and control gaps.
  • Establish security architecture governance and technology decision processes.
  • Develop an enterprise security architecture roadmap aligned with organizational priorities.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for enterprise security architects, cybersecurity architects, solution architects, cloud security architects, network security architects, infrastructure architects, and senior cybersecurity professionals involved in security design and technology decisions. It is also suitable for cybersecurity managers, IT managers, technology leaders, risk and compliance professionals, security engineers, technical leads, and professionals responsible for enterprise architecture, security governance, or major technology transformation initiatives. The program is particularly relevant to organizations designing or modernizing enterprise security architectures across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, application, data, identity, and network environments.

Learning Outcomes

  • Interpret enterprise security architecture principles within business and technology contexts.
  • Translate business and security requirements into architecture decisions.
  • Develop security principles, standards, and architecture requirements.
  • Apply defense-in-depth and zero-trust concepts to enterprise security design.
  • Design integrated identity and access security architectures.
  • Develop secure network and infrastructure architecture patterns.
  • Incorporate application and data protection into enterprise architecture.
  • Evaluate security requirements for cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Design security monitoring and operational security capabilities.
  • Identify architectural risks, control gaps, and technology dependencies.
  • Establish governance mechanisms for security architecture decisions.
