The Electronics Troubleshooting and Repair Training Course equips technicians, engineers, and maintenance professionals with the practical knowledge and systematic methods needed to diagnose faults in electronic equipment and circuit boards, repair them safely and reliably, and restore equipment to service with minimum downtime. In government entities, utilities, energy and oil and gas facilities, manufacturing plants, hospitals and healthcare facilities, telecommunications and broadcasting organizations, transport operators, banks, and large corporations, electronic control systems, power supplies, drives, instruments, communication equipment, and medical and laboratory devices are essential to daily operations. When they fail, the ability to troubleshoot and repair at board and component level can significantly reduce costs, downtime, and dependence on external service providers. Many electronic repairs are delayed or unsuccessful because troubleshooting is approached by trial and error rather than a structured method. Technicians may replace parts unnecessarily, misinterpret measurements, lack confidence in using oscilloscopes and other test equipment, or damage sensitive components through electrostatic discharge or poor soldering practices. Schematics and datasheets may be underused, recurring failures may not be analyzed, and repair quality may vary widely between individuals. At the same time, electrical safety risks, particularly with switch-mode power supplies, high-voltage circuits, and stored energy in capacitors, require careful attention. This course provides a practical, structured approach to electronics troubleshooting and repair. Participants refresh essential electronics principles and study the operation and typical failure modes of key components, including resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, thyristors, operational amplifiers, voltage regulators, relays, optocouplers, and integrated circuits. The program covers reading schematics, block diagrams, and datasheets, and using test equipment effectively, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, bench power supplies, LCR meters, logic probes and analyzers, and thermal imaging. Participants learn electrical safety and electrostatic discharge control practices and a systematic troubleshooting methodology based on symptom analysis, signal tracing, half-split techniques, and measurement interpretation. The course then applies these methods to linear and switch-mode power supplies, analog and amplifier circuits, digital and microcontroller-based circuits, sensor and interface circuits, motor control and drive boards, and common communication interfaces. Participants also learn soldering and desoldering of through-hole and surface-mount components, rework techniques, printed circuit board repair, and quality criteria informed by recognized industry workmanship standards, as well as common failure mechanisms, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, documentation, repair-or-replace decisions, and managing component obsolescence and spares. The course is delivered through an interactive, application-focused approach combining concise theory with practical demonstrations, measurement exercises, fault-finding scenarios, and hands-on soldering and repair practice where laboratory facilities are available. Participants leave with a structured troubleshooting flowchart, a test equipment quick reference guide, a component testing guide, a power supply troubleshooting checklist, an ESD and electrical safety checklist, a repair quality checklist, and a repair record and failure analysis template.
