Course Overview

The EFQM Excellence Model Training Course equips leaders, strategy and excellence professionals, quality managers, and improvement practitioners with a practical understanding of the current EFQM Model and how to use it to assess organizational performance, drive transformation, and deliver sustainable results. The EFQM Model is widely used by government entities, ministries, public authorities, banks, healthcare systems, energy and utility companies, and private organizations as a holistic management framework and as the basis for many national and regional excellence awards and recognition programs. Organizations that apply the model effectively align purpose and strategy with culture, stakeholder value, execution, and results, while those that treat it as a documentation exercise gain little lasting benefit. The course covers the EFQM Model from its logic to practical application. Participants learn the principles and structure of the model, including its focus on direction, execution, and results, the criteria and criterion parts covering purpose, vision, and strategy, organizational culture and leadership, engaging stakeholders, creating sustainable value, driving performance and transformation, stakeholder perceptions, and strategic and operational performance, and the RADAR assessment logic. The program then addresses self-assessment approaches, gathering evidence, assessing and scoring enablers and results using RADAR, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and prioritizing and planning improvement initiatives. Participants also examine designing key performance indicators, target setting, benchmarking, and trend analysis, integrating the model with strategy, management systems, and international standards, preparing submission documents and site visits for excellence awards and recognition, and building a sustainable culture of excellence and continuous improvement. The course is delivered through case studies, self-assessment workshops, RADAR scoring exercises, results analysis, and award site visit simulations. Participants leave with an EFQM self-assessment toolkit, a RADAR scoring guide, a strengths and areas for improvement template, a results and KPI analysis template, and an excellence improvement plan template. This course builds practical application skills and is not an official EFQM assessor certification; EFQM is a trademark of its respective owner.
