Course Overview

The Corporate Financial Risk Management Training Course equips finance, treasury, and risk professionals in non-financial organizations with the frameworks and practical tools needed to identify, measure, and manage the financial risks that affect earnings, cash flow, balance sheet strength, and value. Companies and government-related entities in energy, utilities, manufacturing, construction, real estate, transport, telecommunications, healthcare, trading, and services are exposed to movements in exchange rates, interest rates, commodity prices, and inflation, as well as to liquidity, funding, and counterparty risks that can quickly threaten financial stability if they are not managed deliberately. The course covers the full corporate financial risk management cycle. Participants learn how to identify and quantify foreign exchange, interest rate, commodity, inflation, liquidity, funding, and counterparty exposures, and measure their impact using sensitivity analysis, earnings and cash flow at risk, and stress testing. The program then addresses treasury risk policies and governance, hedging strategies and instruments including natural hedges, forwards, swaps, and options, liquidity and cash forecasting, refinancing and covenant risk, bank and investment counterparty limits, the fundamentals of hedge accounting, integration with enterprise risk management, treasury technology, and financial risk reporting to management and boards. The course is delivered through practical case studies and Excel-based exposure measurement, hedging, and scenario exercises. Participants leave with a financial risk exposure map, a treasury risk policy template, a hedging strategy evaluation model, a cash flow at risk and stress testing model, and a financial risk dashboard.
