Effective calibration management and metrology are essential for maintaining measurement accuracy, equipment reliability, product quality, and compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. Organizations rely on accurate measurements to control processes, verify product conformity, support engineering decisions, and reduce the risks associated with measurement errors. A structured calibration system helps ensure that measuring instruments remain fit for purpose and that measurement results are reliable and traceable. This course provides practical knowledge of metrology principles, calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty, traceability, instrument verification, and calibration programme management. Participants explore calibration intervals, reference standards, calibration certificates, tolerance assessment, out-of-tolerance equipment, and the evaluation of measurement results. The course also examines the application of relevant standards, including ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 10012, to support reliable measurement processes and effective measurement management systems. Through practical exercises and realistic workplace scenarios, participants develop the skills to plan calibration activities, evaluate calibration results, assess measurement uncertainty, maintain calibration records, and manage instruments that fail to meet specified requirements. The emphasis is on measurement reliability, risk-based calibration planning, traceability, and continuous improvement to strengthen quality control and operational performance.
