Course Overview

The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Management Training Course equips outsourcing and vendor managers, operations and shared services leaders, procurement and contract professionals, and transformation teams with the knowledge and practical tools needed to plan, implement, govern, and optimize business process outsourcing arrangements that deliver cost efficiency, service quality, and value while managing risk. Organizations increasingly outsource processes such as customer service and contact centers, finance and accounting, HR and payroll, IT, procurement, and back-office operations to specialist providers to reduce cost, access capability, and focus on core activities. In government entities, banks, telecommunications, and large corporations, well-managed outsourcing delivers significant benefits, while poorly planned or governed outsourcing leads to service failures, hidden costs, loss of control, and risk. The course covers business process outsourcing across the full lifecycle. Participants learn what business process outsourcing is, its models, including onshore, offshore, nearshore, and shared services, the processes commonly outsourced, and the strategic rationale and risks. The program then addresses the outsourcing decision and business case, deciding what to outsource, sourcing strategy, and provider selection, including requests for proposal and evaluation. Participants cover outsourcing contracts, service level agreements, pricing models, and key terms, transition and migration of processes to the provider, and governance, including the retained organization, roles, and the operating model. Participants also examine service and performance management, key performance indicators, and relationship management, managing risk, compliance, data protection, and business continuity in outsourcing, cost and value management, managing change and people impacts, handling underperformance, disputes, and exit and renewal, and trends including automation, AI, and the evolution of outsourcing, building toward an outsourcing management plan. The course is delivered through case studies, business case and sourcing exercises, service level agreement and governance workshops, and performance and risk scenarios. Participants leave with an outsourcing business case template, a provider evaluation matrix, a service level agreement and governance framework, an outsourcing risk and compliance checklist, and an outsourcing performance and relationship management toolkit.
