Course Overview

The Building Strong Information Security Governance Training Course equips professionals with the knowledge and practical tools to establish, strengthen, and maintain an effective information security governance framework. It focuses on aligning information security with organizational objectives, defining accountability, establishing decision-making structures, and ensuring that security policies and controls support business priorities. The course examines governance principles, information security policies, risk oversight, regulatory compliance, and the responsibilities of boards, executives, IT leaders, and security teams. Participants explore recognized frameworks and standards, including ISO/IEC 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and COBIT, to understand how governance requirements can be translated into practical policies, controls, and measurable performance indicators. Through practical exercises and governance scenarios, participants will develop approaches to assess governance maturity, assign security responsibilities, monitor compliance, report risks to senior management, and support continuous improvement.
