Course Overview

The Antenna Systems Design & Installation Training Course provides practical engineering knowledge and installation methodologies for designing, selecting, installing, testing, and maintaining antenna systems used in telecommunications and wireless communication networks. It focuses on the relationship between antenna characteristics, radio frequency (RF) performance, coverage requirements, and installation quality. The course examines antenna types, radiation patterns, gain, polarization, beamwidth, impedance matching, and frequency compatibility. Participants learn how antenna selection and positioning affect signal coverage, interference, transmission efficiency, and overall network performance across cellular networks, microwave links, fixed wireless systems, and other radio communication applications. Particular emphasis is placed on installation engineering, including antenna mounting, alignment, azimuth and tilt adjustment, feeder routing, connector preparation, grounding, bonding, and weatherproofing. Participants also explore common installation defects, cable and connector losses, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), return loss, and the use of RF test equipment to verify installation quality. Through practical exercises, technical calculations, and realistic field scenarios, participants develop the skills required to interpret antenna specifications, prepare installation plans, perform acceptance tests, identify common faults, and document commissioning results in accordance with engineering requirements and applicable safety procedures.
