Acceptance sampling and inspection methods are essential quality control techniques used to determine whether incoming materials, production batches, supplied components, and finished products meet established quality requirements. By applying structured sampling plans and inspection criteria, organizations can make informed acceptance or rejection decisions while balancing quality risks, inspection costs, production efficiency, and delivery requirements. This course provides practical knowledge of acceptance sampling principles, statistical sampling methods, inspection classifications, sampling plan selection, and acceptance criteria. Participants explore single, double, and multiple sampling plans, attribute and variable sampling, acceptance quality limit (AQL) concepts, operating characteristic curves, and the risks associated with accepting defective lots or rejecting conforming ones. The course also examines the application of recognized sampling standards, including ISO 2859 and ISO 3951, where applicable. Through practical exercises and realistic quality control scenarios, participants develop the skills to select appropriate sampling plans, determine sample sizes, interpret inspection results, and make consistent lot acceptance decisions. The emphasis is on risk-based inspection, supplier quality control, reliable decision-making, and the effective integration of sampling methods into quality management systems.
