The Vibration Analysis for Condition Monitoring Training Course equips maintenance, reliability, and condition monitoring professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to collect, analyze, and interpret vibration data to detect developing machinery faults early and support sound maintenance decisions. Vibration analysis is one of the most effective predictive maintenance technologies for rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, compressors, gearboxes, and turbines in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, water, manufacturing, and facilities operations. When applied well, it reduces unplanned failures, extends equipment life, and optimizes maintenance costs; when applied poorly, it produces unreliable data, missed faults, and unnecessary interventions. The course builds from vibration fundamentals to fault diagnosis and program management. Participants learn vibration parameters and units, time waveform and spectrum analysis, and the effects of analyzer settings, as well as sensor selection and mounting, data collection routes, and online and wireless monitoring systems. The program then covers vibration severity assessment using international standards, diagnosis of common machinery faults, including unbalance, misalignment, looseness, bent shafts, resonance, rolling element bearing defects, journal bearing instabilities, gear problems, belt problems, electrical motor faults, and pump and fan problems, and advanced techniques such as enveloping, phase analysis, orbit analysis, and resonance testing. Participants also learn alarm setting and trending, reporting and recommendations, corrective actions such as field balancing and precision alignment, integration with other condition monitoring technologies, and how to establish and improve a condition monitoring program. The course is delivered through vibration spectrum and waveform interpretation exercises using real-machine data, case studies, and program planning workshops. Participants leave with a vibration fault diagnosis chart, a data collection and sensor mounting guide, an alarm setting and severity assessment guide, a vibration report template, and a condition monitoring program implementation checklist. This course builds practical analysis skills and covers knowledge areas relevant to vibration analyst development, but it is not a certification program.
