Course Overview

The ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System Implementation Training Course equips compliance managers, anti-bribery and anti-corruption officers, risk professionals, and internal auditors with the practical knowledge needed to build, operate, and improve an anti-bribery management system that follows the structure of ISO 37001. The standard sets out requirements for preventing, detecting, and responding to bribery through a management system, giving organizations a structured way to show which reasonable and proportionate measures they have put in place. The course focuses on the management system defined by the standard rather than on anti-bribery programs, bribery risks, or investigation techniques in general. Participants work through its requirements in order: context and scope, leadership and the anti-bribery compliance function, bribery risk assessment, the anti-bribery policy, due diligence on business associates and personnel, financial and non-financial controls, gifts, hospitality, donations and similar benefits, raising concerns, investigating and dealing with bribery, monitoring, internal audit, management review, and corrective action. Participants learn how the standard fits with other management systems, such as ISO 37301 for compliance and ISO 9001 for quality, and how to reuse shared processes instead of building parallel ones. The course explains the requirements of the standard and how to apply them; it does not provide legal advice, and participants apply the content within the anti-bribery laws and regulations that govern their own organizations. The course prepares participants for implementation and audit readiness work; certification of an organization's system is carried out separately by independent certification bodies. The course is delivered through a case organization that runs across all five days, bribery risk assessment exercises, due diligence and control design workshops, and an internal audit simulation. Participants leave with a gap analysis against the standard, a bribery risk assessment method, a due diligence procedure for business associates, an internal audit plan, and an implementation roadmap they can adapt to their own organizations.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the purpose, scope, and structure of ISO 37001 and how a management system differs from a stand-alone anti-bribery program.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for compliance managers, anti-bribery and anti-corruption officers, integrity and ethics officers, risk managers, legal and regulatory affairs staff, and management system coordinators responsible for building or strengthening an anti-bribery management system based on ISO 37001. It is equally relevant for internal auditors, procurement and contracts managers, financial controllers, sales and business development leaders who work with agents and intermediaries, and human resources managers responsible for screening and training staff. Professionals in government entities, state-owned enterprises, construction, energy, healthcare, logistics, and multinational groups that deal with public officials, agents, or joint venture partners will find the course directly applicable. It is particularly valuable for organizations whose clients or partners ask for evidence of anti-bribery controls, and for teams preparing their anti-bribery management system for an internal or external audit.
