Course Overview

The Building AI Assistants & Business Apps with No-Code and Low-Code Platforms Training Course equips business users, analysts, and digital teams with the practical skills needed to build AI assistants and AI-enabled business applications without traditional software development. No-code and low-code platforms now include generative AI features that can read documents, classify requests, summarize records, draft responses, and answer questions from company content, which puts useful AI solutions within reach of the teams that understand the work best. The course focuses on adding AI to no-code and low-code solutions rather than on no-code development in general or on integrating AI into enterprise resource planning systems. Participants are not taught to build ordinary forms and workflows from scratch, and no coding is required. Instead, they learn to design assistants that answer from approved knowledge sources, apps that use AI to extract, classify, and summarize information, and workflows where AI steps sit alongside human approvals, all within the platforms their organizations already permit. Participants work through the full life of a solution: choosing a suitable use case, preparing knowledge sources and data, writing assistant instructions, designing the user experience, connecting to business data through standard connectors, testing with realistic and difficult cases, and handing the solution over for support. Governance is part of every build: data protection, access rights, environment separation, review of AI outputs, citizen development rules, and the point at which a solution should move to professional developers. All content is platform-neutral and applies within each organization's policies. The course is delivered through guided builds, design exercises, testing clinics, governance reviews, and a final build project based on participants' own processes. Participants leave with a working assistant prototype, an AI-enabled app design, a test plan, a governance checklist, and a solution handover document they can adapt to their own organizations.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain what AI features no-code and low-code platforms offer, how they differ from ordinary app building, and where their limits lie.
  • Select use cases that suit AI assistants and AI-enabled apps built by business users, and rule out those that do not.
  • Prepare knowledge sources and data so that assistants answer from approved content.
  • Write assistant instructions that set scope, tone, boundaries, and escalation to people.
  • Design apps that use AI to extract, classify, and summarize business information from documents, forms, and records.
  • Combine AI steps with human approvals in no-code and low-code workflows.
  • Connect solutions to business data through standard connectors with the right permissions.
  • Design a simple, clear user experience for assistants and apps.
  • Test solutions with ordinary, difficult, and out-of-scope cases before release, and record the results.
  • Apply data protection, access control, and environment rules to every build.
  • Follow citizen development rules and recognize when a solution needs professional developers.
  • Document, hand over, and support a solution after release.
  • Plan the rollout of AI assistants and apps across a team or department.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for business analysts, process owners, team leaders, operations and administrative staff, and digital champions who want to build AI assistants and AI-enabled apps for their own teams. It is equally relevant for digital transformation and innovation teams, IT business partners who support citizen developers, and knowledge management staff who look after the content assistants rely on. Risk, data protection, and IT governance staff who approve business-built solutions will also benefit. Professionals in government entities, banks and financial institutions, energy and utilities, telecommunications, healthcare administration, education, and shared service centers will find the course directly applicable. Experience with office software is enough; no programming background is required. It is particularly valuable for organizations that already allow no-code and low-code development and want to add AI safely, and for teams with repetitive document, request, or inquiry handling that could benefit from an assistant.

Learning Outcomes

  • By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the AI features of no-code and low-code platforms and their limits.
  • Choose use cases that suit business-built AI assistants and apps, and explain why others do not.
  • Prepare knowledge sources so that an assistant answers from approved content.
  • Write assistant instructions with clear scope, boundaries, and handover to people.
  • Build an AI assistant prototype that serves a real team task.
  • Design an app that extracts, classifies, or summarizes information from documents and records with AI.
  • Combine AI steps and human approvals in a workflow.
  • Connect a solution to business data through standard connectors with appropriate permissions.
  • Test a solution with ordinary, difficult, and out-of-scope cases and act on the findings.
  • Apply data protection, access, and environment separation rules to every solution they build.
  • Decide when a solution should move to professional developers.
  • Document a solution, hand it over for support, and plan its rollout across a team.
