Course Overview

Effective management system auditing helps organizations evaluate conformity, verify the implementation of documented processes, identify risks, and drive continual improvement. ISO 19011 provides internationally recognized guidance for auditing management systems, covering audit principles, audit programme management, audit execution, and the competence and evaluation of auditors. Applying this guidance enables organizations to conduct structured, objective, and evidence-based audits across different management system disciplines. This course provides a practical understanding of the ISO 19011 guidelines and their application to internal audits, supplier audits, and other management system audits. Participants will learn how to establish audit programmes, define audit objectives and criteria, prepare audit plans, conduct interviews, collect and verify objective evidence, document findings, and evaluate corrective actions. The programme also addresses risk-based auditing, auditor impartiality, professional conduct, and the use of remote auditing methods where appropriate. Through practical exercises, case studies, and simulated audit activities, participants will develop the skills required to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on management system audits. The course emphasizes consistent audit methodology, reliable evidence, clear reporting, and value-added recommendations that support compliance, operational effectiveness, and continual improvement.
